- Pre-made burlap bow (optional – or learn to make your own here from Dollar Tree burlap ribbon)

- Dollar Tree small white flowers with yellow centers
- Dollar Tree greenery or eucalyptus bunch
- Wire Cutters
Remember, Dollar Tree will ship supplies directly to your door (in quantities as low as 4 on some items!) so you can shop online for a craft day that’s easy to organize!
Want a full tulip wreath? Just add more bunches of tulips!
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1: Trim Faux Flowers
Use wire cutters to trim the stems of all the flowers and half of the eucalyptus or greenery bunch, leaving about 3 inches of stem.
Step 2: Add Tulips, Greenery, and Flowers
Start by adding the first bunch of tulips (separated) to the top section of the wreath. Add a line of hot glue down each stem, then weave the tulip stems between the grapevine, followed by the eucalyptus pieces for fullness and greenery. Add the white flowers intermixed for contrast.
Step 3: Add The Bow
Secure the bow to the wreath using the tie in the back, or with floral wire if you made your own bow. Our free bow tutorial is so useful for making wreath bows!
Step 4: Add The Remaining Flowers
Then, fill in the bottom section of the wreath underneath the bow with additional flowers from the second bunch of tulips. Secure in place with hot glue.
Hang the wreath with ribbon or a wreath hanger.
Variations for the Farmhouse Spring Wreath DIY
- Experiment with different flower combinations and colors to create unique looks for different seasons or occasions. Dollar Tree has daffodils, hydrangeas, lilies, daisies, and peonies for spring floral, and consider dahlias, roses, poppies, and sunflowers for summer.
- Change up the greenery – swap the eucalyptus for lambs ear or magnolia for a modern farmhouse style.
- Add decorative elements such as ribbons, faux berries, or miniature bird nests for extra charm.
- Instead of a burlap bow, try using a ribbon in a coordinating color or pattern for a different aesthetic.
Common Questions about Making a Farmhouse Tulip Wreath
Can I use real flowers instead of faux ones?
While real flowers can be beautiful, faux flowers are recommended for longevity, especially if the wreath will be displayed outdoors. Tulips especially wilt quickly when not in a vase of water or with a good hydration floral foam, so faux flowers are a must for this spring tulip wreath.
Where can I find grapevine wreaths and other floral supplies?
Grapevine wreaths and craft supplies can be found at most craft stores, including Joann’s, Hobby Lobby, and Walmart, as well as dollar stores like Dollar Tree. You can even buy in bulk from Michaels and Dollar Tree to get all the supplies delivered to your door for a craft day!
Can I use a different wreath form?
Yes, if you’d prefer a different wreath base, you can make your own woven rope wreath base from a wire wreath frame, or wrap a foam wreath form with burlap or ribbon like this wreath and then use floral pins to attach the bunches of tulips. You can also place tulip bundles all the way around a wire wreath frame for a full tulip wreath for spring! Zip tie each bundle in place until you’ve covered the entire wreath form.
Do I need any special skills to make this wreath?
No special skills are required, making this project suitable for crafters of all levels. Simply follow the instructions and let your creativity flow! If you’re feeling nervous about it, place the flowers without glue first, then come back and glue them once all the elements are arranged to your liking.
