But wait… didn’t I already show you how to install arbor rafters / purlins and also how to install the beam supports?
Yup, I sure did. Today’s video is showing how I finished up the lattice purlins and how I added the second set of beam supports. Not a lot new, but it’s coming together nicely!
I specifically waited to add the second set of beam supports to make it easier to install the rafters. Leveling and attaching the beams across 2 points is much easier than across 4 points.
As you can see in the video, after attaching the purlins / rafters to the beams, I installed the second set of beams just like the first set, with 4 lag screws in pre-drilled holes.
Easy peasy — next I’ll show you how I installed those beautiful curved wood brackets!
Stay tuned and subscribe to see how I stain the cedar arbor, add the swing hangers, and add the paverstone patio – right up until the finished project reveal!
