Get This Look: Light and Bright Living Room
A small living room space can appear bigger and brighter when enhanced with the right furniture and accents. Today we are inspired by this airy light and bright living room from the the Salt Lake Parade of Homes 2018, Home 12 by Richmond American Homes. We will break it down step by step for you.
1. Storage Ottoman
Storage is always a bonus when decorating. By going with a tufted storage ottoman, it can be used for double or triple duty. Use it as a place to kick up your feet, store blankets, toys, remotes, and more. And add a try to create a more stable coffee table. When decorating a small space it is always a plus to utilize piece that work for multiple functions.
2. Large Abstract Artwork
Sticking with a white and light neutral color palette draw the eye up with large pieces of art. Hang over a sofa near a window to help reflect natural light into the space. And if you want to try your hand at creating your own, we have tutorial for that!
3. Storage End Table
I know, again with the storage, but it can be beautiful and functional. Don’t just grab an end table, add one with shelves to store books, remotes, and more on the shelves. And if you don’t want to see all of that storage stuff find some baskets to slip in there for an even neater look.
4. Throw Pillows
Throw pillows are a great way to add a touch of texture and dimension. Grab a few striped or lightly patterned pillows and pair with a few white or light gray pillow. Then position pillows in all of the corners, with this sectional, go with three groupings of pillows.
5. Neutral Sectional
To stick to the light and open feeling of this room, don’t go dark with the sectional sofa. Stick to white or if that scares you go with a light gray. This will continue the seemly light and bright natural light feeling of this living room.
6. Metallic Accessories
Lastly, add in those accessories. We love the reflective qualities of these hammered vases and mirrored tray. They also reflect the natural light and add a different layer of texture. Finish them off with some sprigs of greenery, which add a touch of life and color to this otherwise neutral space.
