Printable Birch Tree Art Prints with Custom Carved Initials
After the Christmas decor comes down (the day after Christmas at my house!) it can be tricky to find the right seasonal decor — what kind of winter decor is right for your style? and when can you add Valentine’s decor into the mix? Well, we have the perfect solution: this printable set is both beautiful and simple winter decor AND a perfect nod to Valentine’s Day since you can customize it to feature the ones you love — with carved names on the trunk of the watercolor birch tree! But it is great as year round decor too!
Watercolor Carved Birch Tree Printable Set with Fillable Names and Initials
This birch tree printable set is a best-seller. The hand-drawn watercolor art is so easy to personalize! Perfect for year-round sentimental decor, a Valentine’s Day gift, a wedding gift, or decor for a bridal or baby shower.
Use the general lovey-dove printables alone, or make it a personalized gallery wall art set with the matching set of two popular custom fillable birch tree carving printables.
The printable bundle includes 4 printables:
1: A carved LOVE tree with a duo of love birds sitting in the tree (no official word on whether they are K-I-S-S-I-N-G… 😉 in 8×10 size.
2: A simple 5×7 handlettered watercolor verse: “Darling you are all I ever wanted love to be.”
3: 8×10 size print with the quintessential symbol of love: carved initials inside a heart on a birch tree trunk.
Custom fillable fields mean that you can personalize this for yourself and your love — or for a bride and groom, an anniversary gift, or parents at a baby shower!
And 4: a trio of hand-drawn birch trees (11×14) where you can add up to 9 family member’s or children’s names “carved” on the tree trunks.
Again, these are custom fillable fields so this print is 100% personalized to your needs. (If you don’t need all 9 fields, leave the extra fields blank and they won’t show in the printed version.)
To personalize the prints, download the prints here in our Remodelaholic shop or by using the button below to add one or both sets to you cart. The lovebird and quote set are available at a special price (for a limited time) so be sure to grab both the watercolor print set and the fillable carving set and get decorating!
Once you’ve purchased and downloaded the files, you’re just a couple of steps away from practically perfect printable decor. The lovebirds and lyrics are ready to print, no customization needed. To customize the carved birch trees, open the PDF file using Acrobat Reader on your computer (not in your web browser) and click in each of the blue text fields to add your text. For more information about customizing and printing custom fillable files like this, please see our shop FAQs here.
and then print.
We printed the smaller prints on a new printer from our partners at Canon: the compact and pretty (yes, a pretty printer!) Canon PIXMA TS9020 and the larger 11×14 print on the iP8720 — or you can scale it to fit on 8.5×11 letter paper, too, when you print.

Each print has cut lines included, so for best results, print the 5×7 and 8×10 prints on standard 8.5×11 matte photo paper and the 11×14 on 11×17 paper and then use a craft knife and a metal ruler (like we used for the pennant calendar printable) to cut along the cut lines. Be sure to use a cutting mat underneath so you don’t cut up your table!
You could mount these prints on boards like we did with these feather prints, hang them on an easy DIY memo board, or frame them — you’ll need one 5×7, two 8×10, and one 11×14 (or larger with a mat!) and I think these rustic wood frames we found are the perfect complement to the birch tree art prints. The frames are from Hobby Lobby, and there are similar barnwood frames available over on Amazon as well.
These make a great winter decoration grouped on a mantel or shelf — why not add some real birch candles (or safety-conscious battery operated ones) or tealights? or hang the prints on the wall as part of a mini gallery collection, maybe even with one of the winter prints from our seasonal watercolor print set! You could add a large slice of real birch to the ensemble, or pinecones, evergreen sprigs, and a pom pom garland would also be great additions!
So, just grab the printable set here, and get to printing! Show off your pics by tagging us with #imaremodelaholic on social media, or share your pictures here. And don’t forget to share and pin this!
Please note: a small portion of Mac users have reported that the custom font doesn’t work correctly in the file they receive via email, even after opening it properly in stand-alone Adobe Reader. If this happens to you, please email us at hello@remodelaholic.com.
Update from reader Brooke: “I believe I have figured out what the issue is. Most Macs automatically open a PDF with a program called preview. I had to re download adobe reader and update it for it to show up. Now it is working perfectly. Hopefully this can help for any future Mac users. I just printed the tree with heart and 2 initials for my husband and my name. It is so awesome. I totally love it. I plan on doing one for each of my married children. Thank you so very much.
You are very welcome! We’d love to see pictures if you’d like to share. https://www.remodelaholic.com/share-brag-post/
How does this work? It says save before printing, but when I save it, the initials disappear and there is no way to edit it.
Hi Amy,
You need to make sure the file is saved to your computer and opened in Adobe Reader (not in the PDF viewer in your web browser) — then the fields should be editable and you can print. You don’t need to save it before you print it unless you want to. Let me know if that helps!
How do you adjust the size of the font? The name I have for the trunks is longer and you can’t see it all. There must be a way…I just can’t seem to find it. Thank you – love the idea.
Hi Peggy,
The name fields on the tree trunks should automatically adjust the font size to fit the length of the word you are typing in, up to 15 characters — is the name you’re typing in longer than that?
No, it’s only 5 characters ‘Tucker’. It pushes it off the sides and doesn’t adjust. Any ideas?
Thanks for the assistance.
Might help if I could count…it’s 6 characters.
Counting is over-rated 😉 Are you opening the file in Adobe Reader or in another program, and are you using Windows, MacOS, or something else? If you can give me a few more details, we’ll get this figured out for you, Peggy!
A pop up comes up when I hit the download button saying it will be emailed, but I’m not seeing anything. Did I miss something? These are so darling, I would love to print them!
Hi Chelsea,
I’m not seeing anything for your email address on our end, so will you try again for me? Make sure that you’re entering your correct email address and the file should be sent as soon as you click the “get this printable” button (so check your spam folder, too, just in case.) If you’re still having trouble, drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com
This does not work for me either. tried with three different email addresses.
I just barely saw this comment, my apologies! Drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com and we’ll get it figured out!
The font is not the same as in your pictures and wont let you change. What is yours done in?
Hi Jodi,
The font should automatically be the same, so I’m not sure exactly what the problem is. Will you take a screenshot of what yours looks like and email me at hello@remodelaholic.com so we can get it figured out?
I would love to have these printed at Costco so they can look their best. Is there a way to do that? When I try and save it, it saves all three pages on the same thing and that makes it so I can’t upload it. Does that make sense? Thank you! These are amazing.
Hi Rebecca,
Apologies for my slow reply — we were looking in to a solution for you. 🙂 In order to print at Costco or another photo printer, you’ll have to convert the customized files (after you’ve typed the names in) to a standard photo format (such as jpg) instead of the PDF we’ve provided here, which will require a program such as Photoshop. So the best solution for what you’re wanting to do is to find a friend with Photoshop who can extract the pages from the PDF and save them as image files for you. You could also take the PDFs to a local print shop and have them printed their if you’d like a different quality than your home printer. Sorry that isn’t much help. 🙂
This is so cute!!!!! Thank you for sharing your talent with us!! 🙂
I love the prints and want to print them for my daughters new home! I also am having trouble with the font and size. It looks to be Arial in about a size 12-14. I am using Acrobat Reader on my Mac. Thanks for our help.
Hi Debbie,
Are you opening the file in the specific Acrobat Reader program or is it opening up in your web browser? Give it another try and if you’re still having trouble, drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com and we’ll get it figured out for you. Thanks!
I am having that same problem on a Mac. Does not use the font you have on your demo. Is more like an Arial. I downloaded Acrobat Reader to do it. Help!!
Hi Robin,
Drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com and we’ll see if we can get it fixed up for you!
Thank you for your swift response to my e-mail! I received the file, and saved it to my computer, but am having a hard time pulling it up in a program that will let me add initials. I have Microsoft Office. Any tips? I’m so excited for these prints!
I see that Adobe is free to download, so I’m doing that!
Wonderful! 🙂
I am having the same problem others have mentioned on my Mac. Even though I have the document saved in Acrobat Reader and am able to insert initials/names, the font is small and looks like it’s Arial, not the lovely font it’s supposed to be. Were you able to figure out with the others how to fix this? These prints are amazing and I can’t wait to print sets out for my friends and family!!!
Hi Chantel,
I just saw this comment — if you’re still having trouble, drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com and we’ll see if we can get it straightened out for you. Thanks!
These turned out absolutely gorgeous!!! I love them!!!
Thanks for the love <3
Hi these are amazing! I too am having trouble adding my initials on the images. I can click and will see the blinking cursor to add text but when I type nothing shows up. The file is saved on my computer and am opening it directly in Adobe Reader
Hi Maritza,
Drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com and we’ll get this figured out for you! Thanks!
This is amazing!!! Thank you SO much for making and sharing these. I can’t wait to print them for our home.
hello! beautiful printable by the way! when I am trying to save and print out, it is doing like some of the other comments. the font for the kids names is too big & not like the pictured font, which id imagine is why its cutting it off. the initials for the inside of the heart is doing that same font. it doesn’t look bad on it, but I do like the one that is in your picture better. did you ever figure out how to fix this issue with the other comments?
Hi Rachel,
Make sure that you are opening the file in Adobe Reader, and the most updated version — that’s the (free) program that our PDFs are designed to open correctly with. If you are opening it with Adobe Reader and it’s still not working, drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com. Thanks!
I am having some trouble with the email link. It doesn’t seem to be sending to my inbox. Is this printable still available?
Hi Rachel,
Yes, it’s still available! Drop me a line at hello@remodelaholic.com and I can get it taken care of!
Ok, this is the c-o-o-l-e-s-t! Thank you so much for sharing this! Can’t wait to print for our new house (but since we are moving right now, and I am not even supposed to be surfing the web, I guess I will wait a little longer, lol . . .)
One question: when I am ready to print, will I be able to choose what size I print? I can’t print 11×17. (Or maybe I can? I don’t have that size paper . . . just 8.5×11, that’s all I’ve ever used. Maybe all printers can print that large? And I just need to pick up some larger paper?)
Any advice is welcomed! Thanks again, you are talented!
Hi Julie, I’m really slow on replying, but yes, you can just print it on smaller paper and it will be smaller, or you can save it and take it to a print shop to print larger, since most home printers don’t print 13×19 like our amazing Canon printer does 😉
I purchased this and the download didn’t completely download and I did not get an email version. Can you please help? Thank you!
Hi Amanda! Drop me a line at shop@remodelaholic.com and we’ll get you fixed up!
